Oil & acrylic on canvas
36 in H x 12 in W x 1.5 in D
When the Two Towers came down, we were inundated with photos. The images were everywhere – in magazines, newspapers, on TV. Richard Drew, a photographer from Associated Press captured the image of an unidentified man falling to his death.
The image was iconic. I thought I’d never forget it. But I did. Life goes on.
A few years later, I saw the Falling Man photo again when I least expected it. Suddenly, it hit me harder. I knew then that I never wanted to forget that image ever again.
So I painted a version of it that captures the image, as well as the pain and turbulence of that day.
